On August 15, 1989 Frank, Dominick and Tony D’Antona opened the doors of their restaurant to an area anxious to embrace authentic Italian food. Eighteen years later those same brothers still own and operate the well known Cantina Mamma Lucia of Hanover in Northern Anne Arundel County. Mamma Lucia’s success is based on originality and down home Italian style cooking. The recipes deliver provincial cooking, tasteful, satisfying and unpretentious. My name is Stephen Boyd and I am a long time customer of Mamma Lucia's on Dorsey Road. The food is consistent, and fairly priced. The portions are more than enough. The people are very friendly, and there is enough variety to please anyone. And once again, to be able to say the food is consistently good is something most eating establishments which cost more cannot say. As a previous customer of restaurants in Little Italy I found their food to be overpriced and spotty. At age 64 I have traveled around the country and the Mamma Lucia place of enjoyment is the best bang for the buck around.
